FAQs
What does your intake Process look like?
After reviewing the Intake form, your child will be assigned a Behaviour Consultant (BC). Within 2-3 business days, the child’s BC will get in touch with you to schedule an Intake meeting in which they will learn about your priorities for your child, your child’s strengths and preferences. The BC will review relevant reports (ie. medical, previous support services) and then schedule two play assessments. After the play assessments, the BC will develop goals for the child based on your priorities. When the goal plan is created, the BC will be in touch to schedule a team meeting with your self, and the child’s behaviour interventionist (BI).
Who will work with my child?
Your child will be assigned a behaviour interventionist (BI), who will primarily work with your child. The BI is supervised by the BC and receives regular training to ensure goals are being implemented properly. The BI typically holds a undergraduate degree, or has some university experience.
What do I need for home sessions?
If your child’s sessions are happening in your home, we require a clean 8x8 space - that’s it!
Will you work with my child’s current support team?
Absolutely! Please let your child’s BC know in the initial intake meeting, who is on your child’s team. We are happy to collaborate with other service providers.
I just got a diagnosis, what’s the next step?
We understand that this can be overwhelming. Which is why we’re happy to work with you to get your child access to the supports they need. This resource from AutismBC is helpful in determining next steps: https://www.autismbc.ca/blog/autism-q-and-a/autism-diagnosis-next-steps/
Do you bill to the Autism Funding Unit?
Yes, we bill directly to Autism Funding after completing a Request to Pay (RTP) form. Our Behaviour Consultant is listed on the RASP List as a Category A Consultant.
